With the weakening of yesterday’s high-pressure system, we’re seeing the cycle of daytime showers and storms resuming today, with a few pockets of downpours and occasional lightning possible through mid-evening. Individual showers and storms are moving east to northeast and are unlikely to be incredibly strong, though a few quick wind gusts can’t be ruled out. Overall unsettledness is still forecast to increase with an upper disturbance close to the region in the Deep South and an influx of tropical moisture later in the week, limiting sunshine and raising chances for heavy rain. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 70s, while highs will reach around 90° Wednesday, depending on the amounts of clouds and rainy areas in place.
