We're poised to pick up substantial rainfall over the next 48 hours ... and, unfortunately, may negatively impact your Fourth of July holiday plans. The tropical moisture connection will keep flowing from south to north from the western Caribbean into the eastern Gulf and over the Atlantic states, leading to periods of showers, rain, and downpours. These rain areas may become more persistent and long-lasting, creating a higher chance for local flooding.
Most areas can receive two to four inches of rain through Thursday night. A few areas near the coast may pick up over five inches of rain during this period. A flood watch will be in effect tonight through Friday morning.
Lows will be in the low to mid 70s tonight. Wednesday, with extra cloudiness and rainy times, highs will be limited to the middle 80s.
