Storm Team Tuesday evening forecast (02/19/2013)

Posted

A cold front is advancing eastward into the I-75 corridor through the evening, carrying a few areas of showers and rain with it.  Spotty downpours are possible, especially in the Suwannee River valley of north Florida, through mid-evening.  No severe storms are forecast.  A slight cool-down will be experienced Wednesday morning with a clearing trend and lows in the range of 35 to 42 degrees.  We'll return to generous amounts of sunshine in the afternoon with highs climbing into the low to mid 60s.  This cold snap won't be as brutal as the previous one; southerly winds will return by late-week, and an upper high over the peninsula will effectively block the next cold front from a complete passage.  It will, however, linger nearby, creating prolonged periods of clouds, showers, and thunderstorms for the weekend.
