Plenty of cloud cover will stick around later this evening and overnight, and, unlike the usual summerlike rain pattern, the chance for showers and a few storms won't end in the nighttime period. The current stationary front will still be a focus for spotty shower development, but a stronger cold front will move into the Deep South, pushing its own cluster of rain and storms toward the area. Strength will likely diminish a bit, but it will still be capable of sustaining pockets of rain, sometimes heavy, into the early-morning hours. Lows will be in the lower 70s. Clouds should limit highs to the 80s Wednesday. The front will make steady progress through the region by Thursday, setting up the stage for a drier and likely cooler end-of-week time frame.
