Storm Team Tuesday evening forecast (09/03/2013)

Posted

The region will be split between ample Gulf moisture and a drier air mass over the interior of the Deep South.  A cold front is the dividing line between this split, and will provide a slight focus for scattered shower and storm formation over the next couple of afternoons.  The front is rather modest and not likely capable of creating widespread, heavy rain, or higher severe weather chances … but with the daily seabreeze and enough heating in the afternoon, an isolated storm can become strong in some cases.  This evening, any active shower or storm areas will diminish late, with overnight lows falling into the lower 70s with areas of clear sky and patchy fog.  Highs climb back into the low to mid 90s Wednesday with partial cloudiness by afternoon and a few developing showers and storms.  The front will meander through late-week, but may be able to provide a small amount of dryness areawide over the weekend with much-reduce thunderstorm opportunities.
