High pressure throughout most levels of the atmosphere will control the regional weather pattern for the next couple of days. Only isolated showers are possible this evening near and along the Big Bend coast. Scattered cloudiness elsewhere will thin and diminish after sunset, leading to clearing and a gradual decline in temperatures. The air is sufficiently dry to allow lows to fall into the lower 60s in the interior to near 70° at the coast. Wednesday, sunshine will allow ample warming with partly cloudy conditions, but the high-pressure system will likely keep daytime shower activity very limited. Highs will be warm, in the upper 80s. We’ll stay mostly dry through Thursday before the tropical moisture source enters the Gulf by Friday, spreading moisture and rain areas over the Gulf Coast region. The system will be closely watched for tropical developments.
