The bulk of the active weather avoided the local area today, as the strongest storms and most-concentrated downpours moved toward the peninsula, leaving us with general cloudiness and only spotty showers. A broader upper low is still situated to the west of the area, poised to move east-northeast late tonight. This feature will produce our last chance for scattered showers and rain late tonight through Friday morning. There is no severe weather anticipated. Clouds will linger into at least the first half of Friday before a gradual clearing trend commences. Sunshine will prevail for most of the weekend. Temperatures tonight will fall a few degrees toward 60°, and tomorrow’s highs will reach for the 70° mark. Saturday morning will be slightly cooler, but mild to warm afternoons are expected for the weekend. Much warmer temps are in store for next week with a sun-and-cloud mix.
