Storm Team Monday evening forecast (03/11/2013)

Posted

Our latest cold front is approaching this evening, pushing a line of showers, rain, and a few embedded thunderstorms ahead of it.  These areas of rain action will slide from west to east across the region, starting early this evening in the tri-state area, and exiting the Suwannee River valley by early Tuesday morning.  Occasional downpours appear to be the biggest risk from our rain event, with some isolated amounts approaching one inch.  Thunderstorm strength will be limited and is not a major concern overnight.  Breezes will last through tomorrow as winds become northerly, reminding us that it can still be cool in mid-March.  Lows tonight will range from the mid 40s northwest to middle 50s southeast.  Highs area-wide will reach the 60s Tuesday with a gradual clearing trend.
