Areas of steady rain and showers are draped over the central and eastern parts of the viewing area this afternoon. Individual showers are moving northeast, while the entire line … associated with a cold front … is slowly shifting to the east. The tristate region will be the first location to see the showers end this evening, with some lingering rain in eastern areas through early tomorrow morning. Clouds will stick around through the first parts of your Christmas Eve, with breezy, colder conditions and slow clearing through the afternoon. Tonight’s lows will fall to the upper 30s west to mid 40s east … then struggle to rise through the 50s for highs tomorrow. Additional sunshine will greet us on Christmas Day, with scattered clouds and an isolated shower possible by Thursday.
