We are experiencing the classic late-day pop-up shower and storm pattern across the region, almost forming at random, not covering large swaths of territory, but potentially dropping heavy rain wherever they form. Those that exist are moving generally to the northeast and may contain periods of active lightning. Severe weather potential this evening is limited. Tuesday, we'll have a repeat of this form of shower and storm activity, with perhaps a greater focus near the coast and in southeastern areas. Lows tonight will drop to around 70 degrees, with Tuesday's highs rebounding to the upper 80s to mid 90s.
We are also monitoring a large, unorganized area of tropical moisture and general low pressure in the southern Gulf. Check out the Hurricane Center for a discussion on this.
