Spots of heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms are roaming from west to east across the region this evening through early tomorrow morning. While not likely to be widespread, showers may dump brief downpours in a few areas, and occasional lightning is possible, especially in southwest Georgia. Once the band of rain moves through, a cold front will soon follow, causing a shift in the winds from the northwest and triggering a gradual clearing and cooling trend. Most cloudiness should move out by Saturday mid-morning, leading to a brighter and mild afternoon. Lows tonight will range from the mid 50s west to lower 60s east. Highs rise to the mid and upper 70s tomorrow with additional sun and some breezes. Sunday will feature full sunshine and temperatures below average.
