Cloudiness will prevail for most of Saturday, and rain makes its way into the Big Bend and parts of southern Georgia for your Saturday afternoon and will last throughout a bulk of the late-night hours. A warm, moist, and increasingly unstable atmosphere will lift in from the Gulf, setting the stage for possible strong and severe storm formation late Saturday into the first half of Sunday. Storms during that period may contain wind gusts that can cause localized damage, hail formation, and isolated tornadoes. There will be additional concern about the timing of these storms, as they may fire up during the nighttime hours and pre-dawn Sunday.
Temperatures will be mild to warm in the 70s and near 80 both weekend afternoons. Lows tonight will fall to the 50s, then hover in the 60s Sunday morning.
A cold front will clear the area late Sunday, giving us another blast of winter-like conditions for the upcoming work week. From Monday through Wednesday, sunshine comes to play but expect below seasonal temperatures in the 60s during the day and nighttime temperatures in the 30s.
Check in with the Storm Team throughout the weekend on-air, on-line, and on the go for the latest updates and forecast information.
