Storm Team Friday evening forecast (01/18/2013)

Posted

The weekend will feature a good deal of sunshine both afternoons, but certainly not as warm as last weekend was.  Colder high pressure will linger across the Southeast.  Its positioning will produce northeasterly winds for the region, which will not promote further cooling.  As a result, daytime temperatures Saturday and Sunday will rise well into the 60s, perhaps some areas near 70° on Sunday afternoon.  Tonight’s lows will fall deeper into the 30s with less wind and a clearer sky.  We’ll continue with seasonably cool to cold conditions into next week as another cold front will swing through by Monday, carrying a source of Arctic air toward the area.  A morning or two of freezing temperatures remain in the forecast for the Wednesday-Thursday time frame.
