A source of drier air aloft has helped to suppress active storm formation across the region today ... however, there's enough low-level moisture to allow a few spotty areas of showers to develop. Rain chances for this evening remain quite low, but temperatures will stay very warm. Minimum temps overnight will reach only the low to mid 70s. Saturday will feature similar weather to today, with only widely scattered to isolated showers or storms forming mainly in the late-afternoon to early-evening hours. As a result, many areas will achieve middle 90s for highs. Another disturbance and cold front will slide into the Deep South late Sunday, causing an uptick in rain activity for the first half of the new week.
