MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- The tropics are becoming more active, mainly along the open Atlantic, where a disturbance over the waters southwest of the Cape Verde Islands is churning. This disturbance is being investigated further by the National Hurricane Center and it currently has a 70% chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next five days. It will likely continue to push to the west-northwest over the next couple of days. It is not expected to be a threat to the U.S.
