MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tropical Depression 11 has developed into Tropical Storm Joaquin. It currently has winds sustained at 40 mph as of the 11pm advisory. It is expected to turn into a tropical storm likely on Tuesday. The forecast track shows that areas along the U.S. east coast stretching from the Carolina's coasts to New England can feel impacts. If the depression becomes a tropical storm, the name would be Joaquin.
Meanwhile the tropical wave over the eastern Gulf will continue to drench the Gulf coast of Florida and Flash Flood Watches have been issued locally because of it. The system will likely not develop, nevertheless, it does have a 20% chance of doing so within 2 days.
Also, the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida have a 30% chance of re-developing into a depression within the next 5 days. This system has no immediate U.S. threat.
