TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - We're monitoring two active systems in both the Atlantic and Pacific Basin. Hurricane Odile makes landfall in the Baja of California as a major hurricane, one of the strongest systems on record to ever make landfall there. It will continue to move along the Baja shoreline while slowly weakening and stalling before getting to the United States. Some heavy rains are still possible for the already saturated Desert Southwest. In the Atlantic, Hurricane Edouard churns as a Category 2 system and is expected to strengthen into a major Category 3 hurricane. It will remain a "fish storm" and won't impact any islands or land masses while eventually turning to the northeast.
