TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) --
We are monitoring an area of low pressure located about 210 miles east-southeast of St. Augustine, Florida. This area has been reporting some shower and thunderstorm activity, by mid-week conditions could be favorable for further development. This system is moving slowly southwestward, then north and northeastward near the southeastern U.S. coast. As we head into the next five days, conditions show that there is about an 80% chance for development.
For us as of now, that could mean an increase in showers and thunderstorms for the holiday weekend.
