Hurricane Ingrid remains at Category 1 strength this morning, with winds of 75 mph. It is currently located over the Bay of Campeche and is quickly approaching the east coast of Mexico, where the outer rain bands are already producing high rainfall totals, triggering flooding and mudslides. Landfall is expected tomorrow afternoon, and Ingrid is expected to maintain its intensity until the eye moves over land late tomorrow. Ingrid’s impacts for our area will be confined to the water – swells today and tomorrow offshore around the Big Bend could reach 5 feet.
The remnants of Humberto are still located in the middle of the northern Atlantic Ocean. They are showing some organization, and the National Hurricane Center is giving the area an 80% chance at re-development into a tropical system in the next 48 hours. If it does develop, it will be renamed Humberto. Regardless of development, the disturbance is not expected to affect land.
