MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- Hurricane Oscar continues to swirl in the open Atlantic, though it is still no threat to land.
As of the 5:00am advisory, Oscar is a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. It was located nearly 620 miles SE of Bermuda.
The storm is expected to turn to the north tomorrow, and eventually to the northwest in the open Atlantic. It may intensify to a Category 2 hurricane, but it is no threat to land at this time.
Oscar is forecast to accelerate into the northern Atlantic where it will turn non-tropical by Wednesday. The storm is forecast to be north of the Azores by Friday.
