TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- There are three different systems in the tropics this morning.

Post-tropical cyclone Julia has 30 mph sustained winds and is expected to continue to weaken as it moves closer towards the Carolina coastline. Southwesterly shear will keep Julia from becoming more organized.

Tropical storm Karl has 40 mph sustained winds and is moving west at 15 mph. This morning it is still pretty disorganized and not a lot of development is expected in the short term. In the long term Karl will be moving over warmer water and is forecast to strengthen into a category 1 hurricane. For now it is moving west but is expected to turn northwest by midweek. No local impacts are expected.

A disturbance south of the Cape Verde Islands has a 80% chance of cyclonic formation over the next 5 days. Environmental conditions are expected to be favorable for development and a tropical depression could form midweek.
