MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Ida continues to move to the north-northwest in the Atlantic Ocean at a slightly slower speed of 8 mph. On the other hand, maximum sustained winds have increased to nearly 50 mph with higher gusts. Ida is expected to strengthen over the next few days, possibly becoming a Category 1 hurricane later in the week if environmental conditions remain as expected. However, our region will not be affected.
