Monday morning Tropics check (08/01/2016)

TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- Thunderstorm activity associated with a tropical wave located over the east-central Caribbean Sea has a 80% chance of cyclonic formation over the next 5 days.  Even though the system still lacks a closed surface circulation, wind data indicate tropical storm force winds of 40 to 45 mph on the north and east areas of the tropical wave. If this system continues to develop a tropical storm could form later today or early Tuesday. This system is moving quickly towards the west at 25 mph.
