MIDWAY, Fl. (WTXL) -- A weak disturbance of showers and thunderstorms is moving east over the Bahamas. It has a 40% chance of developing in the next 5 days. The east coast of the U.S. should monitor the progress of the disturbance as it is expected to turn to the northwest.
Hurricane Nicole continues to stay alive in the North Atlantic as a Category 1 hurricane. As of the 5am advisory, the storm has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph. It is no immediate threat to land but it is expected to continue toward the Arctic, transitioning into a non-tropical storm system.
