TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Erika is long gone and we're watching Hurricane Fred in the far eastern Atlantic. Hurricane Warnings are posted for the Cape Verde Islands.
This is only the fourth time ever a hurricane has formed this far east in the Atlantic Basin. It'll continue to drift to the west-northwest before fizzling out in the central Atlantic. Fred will not threaten the United States shoreline.
