A muggy and dreary Monday is in store for much of the area as a stationary front remains parked along the Florida/Georgia border. Southeasterly flow is providing plenty of moisture to the region, fueling showers and thunderstorms through the day today. Rain chances stay around 60% this morning, tapering off to around 40% this afternoon and evening. The frontal boundary weakens during the day today, but an upper level trough will swing through tomorrow and Wednesday, triggering showers and thunderstorms through the middle of this week. Rainfall totals over the next few days will approach 1-2 inches, with some localized areas seeing higher amounts.
High pressure over the Ohio Valley will expand into the southeast on Thursday, forcing the frontal boundary out of the region. Dry air will filter in by the end of the week, and temperatures should remain right around average with highs in the high 80’s and lows in the high 60’s.
