MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The former hurricane Ophelia transitioned into a strong post-tropical cyclone in the far northern latitudes of the north Atlantic, racing through Ireland with hurricane-force gusts and coastal flooding Monday morning.
Closer to the tropical Atlantic basin region, a wave of unsettled weather has a short window of time to gather some organization a few hundred miles north of Hispaniola, but upper-level winds in a few days will prevent additional development efforts.
There are no other areas of impending concern elsewhere around the Atlantic basin.
