MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- While the eastern Atlantic will be monitored in the next few weeks for vigorous low-pressure systems emerging over the waters from western Africa, there are no systems present that cause short-term concern for strengthening tropical cyclones.
The peak of the hurricane season, in terms of the frequency of storm development, is roughly now through mid-September.
