Tropical Depression #2 developed in the far western Caribbean this morning, with a steady movement to the west. Its peak wind speed is 35 mph as it makes its way toward the country of Belize, south of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Tropical Depression #2 poses no direct threat to the Big Bend region.
Elsewhere, a stretched-out area of moisture in the southern latitudes of the North Atlantic is not forecast to rapidly develop because of its current disorganization and swift upper-level winds nearby.
There are no other areas of interest in the tropical Atlantic basin at this time.
