MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Hanna is lingering off the coast of Nicaragua in Central America late Monday afternoon, with highest winds of 40 mph.  The forecast for the system shows slight movement over land in the next 12 to 24 hours, where Hanna is likely to dissipate as a tropical storm but may still create a heavy rain threat for affected areas.

A second disorganized system a couple hundred miles to the east of the Lesser Antilles has limited potential to develop further.  Upper-level winds are forecast to increase over the region, halting strengthening efforts.

No other noteworthy areas of disturbed weather exist in the tropical Atlantic basin.
