MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A cluster of rain and storms lingers just south of the coast of Mississippi and Louisiana, drifting westward. This is associated with an upper low-pressure system that is able to cause a soaking along the central and western Gulf regions through Wednesday. A minimal amount of risk for further tropical development is present, but expectations for a flare-up in organization and strength is unlikely.
Another upper disturbance will move westward toward the Florida peninsula later this week. The system does not appear to gain tropical characteristics through the next few days.
There are no other points of immediate concern elsewhere in the tropical Atlantic basin through this week.
