MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Three disturbances are being monitored in the Atlantic ocean for potential development.

The first, in the western Gulf of Mexico is battling wind shear due to the same front that had pushed through our region this past weekend. It has a 20% chance of developing within the next 5 days. As it continues to try and organize, it will also battle interaction with nearby land. Upper level winds will likely prevent this system from moving close to U.S. land, but the east coast of Mexico may deal with potential flooding concerns as the system pushes east toward the Mexican mainland.

The other two disturbances are in the Atlantic ocean east of the Caribbean and just west of Africa. The western disturbance will likely push north as it organizes. It has an 80% chance of developing into a depression/named storm in the next 5 days.

The eastern disturbance is just off the African coast and is forecast to continue to move west/northwest in the coming days. It has a 50% chance of developing in the next 5 days.
