MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Conditions are still quite inactive in the tropical Atlantic basin. Much of the atmosphere in the southern latitudes of the North Atlantic remain controlled by dry air, partly due to airborne Saharan dust. Also, upper-level winds in the western Caribbean are swift and generally unfavorable to disturbances that would try to develop further.
Significant strengthening of tropical systems is not expected for another few days.
