MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- A tropical wave a few hundred miles northeast of the Lesser Antilles has a reasonable chance to develop into a tropical depression this week. While the system is moving west-northwest, on a parallel track to the Greater Antilles and in the direction of the Bahamas, cold front sweeping off the U.S. eastern region should deflect the developing system to the northeast and over the open ocean.

This is the only noteworthy system being monitored in the tropical Atlantic basin, as no other areas of clouds are forecast to organize in the days ahead.
