TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL) -- At this time, there is only one area of interest in the tropics.

Tropical Depression Emily made landfall Monday morning as a tropical storm just south of Tampa. Since then, it weakened just a bit, but is still dumping plenty of rain over parts of south and central Florida. Emily will continue to move east northeastward at about 12 mph through the rest of the night. By Tuesday morning, this depression is expected to reach the western Atlantic, where it could restrengthen back to a tropical storm. Emily will continue moving in a north northeast direction towards the northern Atlantic Ocean for the rest of the week.
