MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Claudette formed early Monday afternoon about 300 miles east of the Delmarva Peninsula in the mid-Atlantic states.  The system will not impact Florida, and is likely to remain somewhat disorganized as it tracks parallel to the U.S. east coast and into the Canadian Maritimes.  It is forecast to weaken in the process.

Claudette formed from a zone where July tropical system tend to originate.

Elsewhere in the tropics, conditions remain very dry in the southern latitudes, and mid-level wind forces are still quite strong in the Caribbean, so additional tropical cyclones are unlikely to develop for the next few days to come.
