MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the WTXL First Alert Weather Center ...

Passing showers and thunderstorms will swiftly move to the west through the region late today through tonight before weakening. Some remaining cloudiness is possible with overnight readings falling into the middle 70s. The local effects from Tropical Storm Gordon in the east-central Gulf will be primarily an increase in rain coverage for coastal and western Big Bend areas, along with occasional breezes that will be enhanced offshore. Most inland locations will avoid prolonged periods of tropical storm-force winds, and quite possibly, interior southern Georgia counties may still have breaks of sun and only scattered showers and thunder. Highs Tuesday will be in the 80s, and rain coverage will be higher along the coast and in the Apalachicola River region and the southwestern Big Bend. The pattern by midweek will start a return to scattered afternoon thunderstorm activity.
