TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - After the pre-Christmas historic rainfall that brought over 10" of rain to some spots, flooding is becoming a concern along some area rivers.
At this point, the greatest concern is along the riverbanks of the Ocklockonee and Sopchoppy which are currently experiencing moderate flooding. Forecasts indicate that the Sopchoppy could be back to the minor flood stage as soon as this weekend, but the Ochlockonee from Midway all the way to northern Thomas county could experience moderate flooding all the way through the new year.
Meanwhile, the Withlacoochee and Apalachicola Rivers are currently experiencing minor flooding and aren't expected to rise anymore.
We'll post updates on forecast updates as soon as we get them.
