TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - The Leonid meteor shower will be visible this week on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings between midnight and dawn. In order to see this you have to go somewhere very dark, in the country where there are no city lights nearby. Fewer clouds are expected Tuesday morning compared to Wednesday morning so that would be the more ideal time to watch the meteor shower.
The meteors are debris trailing the Comet Tempel-Tuttle. The Leonids are usually a modest shower with rates of about 10 to 15 meteors per hour at the peak.
