TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — As expected, . Tropical Depression 11 has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Josephine with max winds of 45 mph. Josephine is currently 975 miles ESE of the Leeward Islands.

Josephine is moving toward the west-northwest near 15 mph, and this general motion is expected to continue for the next few days followed by a turn toward the northwest late this weekend or early next week.

Our thinking remains the same as earlier... gradual strengthening is expected through tomorrow before eventual weakening/dissipating by early next week when it enters an area of increasing wind shear off the East Coast. This storm should be a non-threat for the southeast US.
