TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Another heat advisory is in effect for most of the area including the Tri-State, Big Bend and coastline until 6 pm tonight for expected afternoon temps in the upper 90s with "feels-like" temps up to 112°! Scattered afternoon and evening storms are expected as a broad area of low pressure meanders to the south of the area coupled with upper level impulses riding down the jet stream through the southeast U.S. courtesy of a heat dome set up over the Southern Plains in the form of a large, dominant high pressure system. As storm coverage increases the next couple days, temps back off to the low to mid 90s for highs. Scattered PM storms remain likely heading into the weekend too with temps in the low 90s for highs--much more bearable than the searing heat we've seen early this work week. By next work week, rain chances turn more spotty in nature and temps start to climb to the mid 90s, courtesy of more dominant sunshine.
