TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- Matthew is currently a category 2 hurricane with 100 mph sustained winds and is moving west at 14 mph. It is expected to strengthen into a major, category 3 hurricane over the next day or so.
Matthew will continue to move west this weekend before sharply turning north by the start of the next work week. The margin of error is still rather large, but the latest models show Matthew moving parallel to the east coast of Florida, through the Bahamas early next week.
