TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) -- Tropical depression Bonnie currently has 35 mph sustained winds and is moving northeast at 6 mph. It will continue to move away from the United States back into the Atlantic Ocean.
There is a disturbance near the Yucatan Peninsula that has a 50% chance of cyclonic formation over the next 5 days. Upper level winds are not forecast to be conducive for formation but additional development could occur as it moves across the Gulf of Mexico. This system is likely to produce heavy rain and possible flooding over parts of the Yucatan, Cuba and Florida.
