TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - The Gulf of Mexico heated up with tropical depression number 9 over the Yucatan Peninsula. It did not become the 8th named storm of the 2014 season and continues to weaken as it moves eastward over the peninsula into the Caribbean Sea. There is a slight chance (about 10%) for the depression to regenerate in the next few days. It's regeneration depends on if it is engulfed by a cold front in the next 2 days.
