MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The tropical wave nestled in the far southwestern Atlantic Ocean is still poorly organized, but there have been bursts of thunderstorm development on the southeastern side of the circulation. If the low crosses the south tip of Florida or the Florida Straits, future strengthening is possible if the low reaches the warmer waters of the Gulf of Mexico. More details on this will be available on the Hurricane Center section of wtxl.tv.
Tropical Storm Gaston is farther out to sea and will remain there, generally east of Bermuda through early next week, likely to regain its status as a hurricane in the process.
A third wave of moisture is just off the central Gulf coast, but because of its location close to land and lack of organization, the disturbance is not expected to form into a stronger tropical feature.
