TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - What once was a major hurricane, Sandra continues to drift towards the Mexico coastline as a category 1 system with winds of 80 mph. It will continue to weaken as it pushes north due to high upper level winds tearing the system apart. It will likely make landfall as a tropical depression.

Though this won't impact our weather, it will slow the progression of the cold front over the southern Plains meaning our next rain maker will be extended later into our 7-day forecast.

Meanwhile, the Atlantic remains quiet. Hurricane season ends on November 30th.
