MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- Tropical Storm Hermine is moving northeast along the Carolina coastal zones late Friday. The storm will impact the mid-Atlantic shores with high surf, coastal flooding and windy conditions, which may focus more force along the Jersey Shore and Long Island as the system is forecast to slow and perhaps stall off the coast.
Gaston, once a major hurricane in the open Atlantic, is encountering a weakening mode and has become a tropical storm just to the west of the Azores in the eastern Atlantic.
A ragged disturbance in the southern part of the North Atlantic has been trekking to the west-northwest and may approach the Lesser Antilles in a couple of days. Long-range intensification chances remain low, but the feature will still be track to monitor future development trends.
