With dry air and wind shear dissipating over the Atlantic Ocean expect more activity in the tropics over the next week or so. In fact, a new system coming off the coast of Africa today has a strong potential to become a tropical cyclone. The National Hurricane Center has given it a 60% chance of developing in the next 5 days. Overall, the system could develop in the short term outlook, yet it is still thousands of miles away from the United States and does not pose any threat as of now. If anything does develop though we will bring you the latest updates here at the ABC Storm Team.
