What a cold and windy winter day it has been so far! A cold front swept through the area last night and brought us a cool, dry, sunny, and breezy day today. Bundle up because tonight will be even cooler than last night.
Mostly clear skies and calm winds overnight will allow temperatures to fall below freezing for an extended period of time. Remember to check on pets and plants, however since this is a light freeze your pipes should be okay. The low tonight will be 27 degrees under clear skies and calm winds. Therefore wind chill values tonight won't be quite as chilly as what we saw last night!
Mostly sunny skies return for Saturday with a slight warm up in store for the Big Bend. Highs on Saturday will be in the lower 60s. Sunday we return to mostly cloudy conditions with another shot for showers ahead of the next storm system that will bring on arctic cold front late Sunday night into Monday morning. This air mass will be even colder than the one we are currently experiencing. Crank up the heat and enjoy south Georgia and north Florida winter weather!
