MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the WTXL First Alert Weather Center ...

Passing clouds and breezes are expected Saturday with lows in the mid 60s to low 70s, and highs in the middle 80s.  It will remain partly cloudy until Sunday, when Hurricane Irma makes its approach in south Florida and travels north throughout the state Sunday and Monday.  Local weather conditions will deteriorate Sunday afternoon with more gusts of wind and thickening clouds.  Occasional rain will begin in the Suwannee Valley late Sunday as winds further increase to tropical storm force (40 mph or higher) while the remainder of the region will experience periods of rain and gusts through Monday evening.  Some sustained tropical storm winds are likely, especially near I-75, where the highest chance for hurricane-force gusts lie.  Irma will be much weaker when it reaches the stateline region, but can produce rain totals from 2” in the Apalachicola River to 8” near and east of I-75.
